  • During the first hour Jane is planning to use the ‘Summer of Love’ songbook which has 20 songs released in 1967 including Daydream Believer, Lucy in the Sky, Flowers in the Rain, Help!  If you’re going to San Francisco, Ruby Tuesday, Waterloo Sunset, All you need is Love and Brown Eyed Girl. There are 3 ways to access the book:-

    1. It can be downloaded from

    2. It can be purchased on the night for £2

    3. You can borrow a copy or share with someone.

UBG will be performing these songs at Mettricks Guildhall on Sat 26th August at 2pm as part of the Southampton Pride Day (it was in 1967 that the Homosexuality Decriminalisation Bill was passed.) Let Jane know if you would like to come and join in!

Singalong with Simon

All songs are from the main SUJ song list unless otherwise mentioned. Please be aware that versions of some songs exist in multiple keys so if you already have sheets printed, you will need to check that the chords are the same.

We’ll be playing tunes from the Granny Franny World Tour and Ukes for Groups books. We’re working on Speed Bonny Boat and Kalinka.

Noodling for beginners with Jane

Noodling caters for new players, people who love to sing and experts. Come along to learn the part you feel suits you – you can just sing, just strum, just pick or mix and match, using new songs and old favourites in the UBG book: Riffs, Rhythms and Harmonies.

You can buy a copy for £6.75 – It contains 72 songs, all of which have an interesting pick, noodle or harmony. That’s cost price or you can print it yourself if you prefer.

We are hoping to try some songs from the new Noodling book this time, which Jane will bring.
