First Half – 7.15 to 8.10pm
Smaller Room New Beginners with Mark and Sarah
Introductory session for new beginners and those who have only been coming for a few weeks and are still learning the basics. No previous experience necessary. We will be using the new beginner’s song book. We will have copies available for a small donation. There will also be some spare ukes available.
Main Hall: Singalong with Jane
Second Half 8.20 – 9:15pm
Main Hall: Easy singalong with Simon
This session is designed to be fun and less technically demanding than the improver’s session but a bit trickier than the new beginner’s class.
We’ll be playing tunes from the Granny Franny World Tour and Ukes for Groups books. We’re working on Speed Bonny Boat and Kalinka.
Noodling for beginners with Jane
Noodling caters for new players, people who love to sing and experts. Come along to learn the part you feel suits you – you can just sing, just strum, just pick or mix and match, using new songs and old favourites in the UBG book: Riffs, Rhythms and Harmonies.
You can buy a copy for £6.75 – It contains 72 songs, all of which have an interesting pick, noodle or harmony. That’s cost price or you can print it yourself if you prefer.
If you are a complete beginner, there are some tips, suggestions and links to videos for beginners on our Beginners and Improvers homepage.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
*) The charge of £2 covers room hire, equipment and running costs of the group. Should there be any surplus after deduction of costs, this will be donated to charity. Details of donations will be published on the Fundraising page of the website.
