The next B&I at Velmore will be on Monday 2nd September. New beginners will be very welcome. Come and join us in the Main Hall. Specific sessions for new beginners take place in the Cornwall room (smaller room nearest to Kent Road).
Doors open at 7 pm (no entry to hall before 7pm)
We start playing at 7.15 pm. See info for beginners
Velmore Community Centre, Falkland Road, Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire, SO53 3GY
There is some parking at the back of the community centre/church and some more at the front of the shops which are just next door to it, so you should be able to park quite close to it.
They don’t have a bar, although they allow you to bring your own drinks (within reason) and they have a little kitchen, where it’s possible to make tea and coffee. You can bring your own milk and teabags or pay to use the centre’s.
There will be a charge of £2 each. This covers room hire, equipment and running costs of the group. Should there be any surplus after deduction of costs, this will be donated to charity.
There is usually a spare uke to use during the evening (on a first-come-first-served basis, right- or left-handed ukes available), if you would like to have a try before you buy your own. Advice is also available on buying ukes and setup issues.
Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page if you would like to bring children along with you.
Songs – Please print off and bring the songsheets for the session(s) you want to do.
First Half – 7.15 to 8.10pm

Noodling means combining picking the strings with strumming techniques. We sing a huge variety of songs from the Noodling books which will be available.
